The competition is officially over and the team is now back in Vermont. Our month is California was a whirlwind of construction, tours, jury walkthroughs, contests, and disassembly. The team placed 12th overall and received an amazing award in honor of longtime operations manager for Solar Decathlon, Byron Stafford. We were selected as the team that best exemplifies Byron’s spirit and qualities.
As the competition came to a close, our team realized the success of our small Norwich community and the impact we had on the Solar Decathlon competition. We are proud that we created an affordable and accessible, high performance home in line with our long term mission. We would like to extend a final thank you to all of those who visited the competition for your support, as well as our family, friends, and industry partners who made this project possible. We hope we made you proud!
The Delta T-90 House is now on its way to Springfield, OH where it will become the Experiential Design Lab at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott House. For more information visit SolaratWestcott.org.
